Now in its second year, this competition was designed for domestic and international university and graduate students to explore ideas for new products and services related to the activation of inbound tourism. This year, the contest saw participation from around 480 individuals, a 1.5 times increase from the previous year, and received a total of 144 proposals, demonstrating high interest in enhancing the competitiveness of K-travel. Yanolja Research anticipates that this contest will contribute to strengthening the national competitiveness of the tourism industry.
On the 25th, Yanolja Research hosted the final judging, presentation, and award ceremony at its headquarters, where the top 8 entries were recognized. The grand prize was awarded to "Travel Young (Kim Ga-kyung, Lee Ju-won, Choi Sun-woo, Hong Chang-ki)," who proposed a tailored K-culture service for tourists and received high scores. Additionally, "JETForty (Kim So-yeon, Lee Seung-heon, Lim Dong-ju, Ha Ji-hye)," who proposed an identity verification system for foreign tourists, won the excellence award along with two other teams, while four teams won the encouragement award. A total of 12 million won in prize money was distributed to the winners.
Sung-sik Park, the representative of Yanolja Research, stated, "We selected the winners based on innovative and feasible ideas and effective inbound activation strategies for the tourism industry. This competition also provided an opportunity to discover young people's serious interest and new perspectives on overlooked problems by tourism industry experts."
